  11. I recently purchased an internal modem that has a "high speed 16550 UART" 
  12. interface.  However, none of the chips on it says anything like "16550" on
  13. it.

  15. What does one of these things look like?  And whats the big white thing on the
  16. PC board that says "AT&T ... BABT"?
